I have a 1996 Oceanrunner that seems to be missing at high speeds. It only does it sometimes and seems to do it after it has been running for a while. I tested the spark and at .05 gap cylinders 1,3,5 fire very strong and rapid. Cylinders 2,4,6 fire intermittently and not at all it seems sometimes. You can crank the ignition and hold it sometimes it fires and sometimes it doesnt. When it does fire on that side its not constant. Where as the other side is constant firing. Any suggestions. Im thinking the stator is shot? Thanks, Scotty

Swade..... The spark should be tested with the spark plugs removed. The reasoning being is that the engine must turn over at least 300 rpms in order to engage the ignition circuits properly. Were the plugs removed when you did the test?

Note that the gap should be set to 7/16", not 1/2".

Check the shift switch, power pack, and ignition coils.
