Can anybody tell me if a 1999 115 johnson model j115plee
Ocean Runner is a ficht engine? If it is, was it a problem engine?

Parts list shows 4 carbs. I have the V6, and it is a real good motor. I would expect your motor is as good.

Be glad it's not a Ficht for that vintage. The one you have is a good mtr.

The Ficht motors were sold as Evinrudes, I can't find any listing for a Johnson Ficht in the BRP online parts lists. The Fichts had an "F" in the model #, after the horsepower #, ie; E150FCXEE. Your carbureted motor should be reliable workhorse, depending on how it was cared for, of course.

No it is not a Ficht. What you have is one of the best, most bulletproof outboard motors made.
