i have a 1990 johnson 15 hp. iput on a new prop how tight the nut has to be. the old was just finger tight. in a manul it say 120 pounds. how can you do that when the motors is in neural.
You need to place a block of wood between the prop and the outboard's lower unit to stop the prop from spinning. Once the wood is placed to stop the prop from spinning you will be able to tighten it to the proper specs. Be careful and make sure the wood doesn't slip out while you're trying to torque the nut.
