Johnson rewind spring interchange

1958 QD-19 with broken rewind spring. Johnson part catalog says 41-197. None of the local shops seem to be able to find that spring in thier databases. Sierra part number for this spring is 18-6501 and is the same as the spring for the 35hp model of later years.

So, the local shop does have a NOS Johnson spring for the 1957 35hp. Could it be assumed then that it would fit my 10hp since Sierra lists the same spring for both?

I would just buy it from the iboats store but it is out of stock. Thanks for the help.

they used the same parts in many motors back then, recoil spring would be one of them.
