I have a johnson 5 1/2 seahorse model # cd/11 <br />s/n 1162797.<br /><br />can some tell me what kind of gas tank i can use for this model.<br /><br />I have a evinrude cruis-a-day gas tank but the bladder?? for the primer button is cracked. can i get parts for this gas tank or do i need a new can<br />thanks<br />rodne

That is a 1954 model and you will need the pressure tank (double hose)style, like you have. Fix that one if is not rusted out, because you will pay dearly to get another one that has not been made in nearly 45 years.<br />Backfire

i have a pressure tank from some **** thing i bought years ago, and have been trying to find someone who needs it. i'd hate to throw it away. no-one i know has a motor that requires this tank. any takers?

Make sure you keep the oil ratio thick on that motor - it needs a 24:1 ratio to keep it together. It has bronze babbit bearings all through the powerhead and will become a pile of scrap aluminum in short order on 50:1. Some guys claim the synthetics work alright at thinner ratios, but I haven't been bold enough to try it yet - oil's cheap - parts aren't...<br />- Scott
