I have a Johnson seahorse HD25. I believe the serial # is 817567. this is a 2.5 Horse power right? I am wondering what year it was made and where I can find parts. It has many dents on the main cover so I am looking to restore it. Thanks!

Welcome to iboats. :)

2.5Hp built 1946-50. Parts aren't available except for sparkplugs and shear pins.

Howdy, JGG.

Welcome to iboats. :)

That engine was built from 1946 to 1950.

It uses a Champion J8C plug gapped at .030", points set at .020" and fuel mix of 24:1 using TC-W3 oil and 87 octane unleaded.

You can probably find used parts at tcoutboard.com. If iboats doesn't have them, AOMCI can suggest sources for new parts.

Good luck. :)

Thanks guys! this was my wifes grandfathers motor! Needless to say, it has a little history behind it and that is why I would like to clean it up.
