Johnson spark plugs

I have a 74 Johnson 70 hp and im putting new spark plugs in what is the gap for them i have been told 40 and then 35 what is it suppose to be thanks.

Champion, L77JC4 or QL77JC4 .030 if you do a lot of idling or trolling go with .035, to cut down on fouling.
