Johnson Tag missing

I have a Johnson motor on this pontoon boat I just got . The tag is missing . I’m trying to figure out what year size and model it is .Was searching for hours but didn’t find much . I have some pictures on the motor and the Welch plug has a number on it . Not sure if that could tell what it is .

Best guess is a 40 / 48 / 50 HP model 1989 or newer to 1991.----Best look at the wood on the motor mount.----Best to install a new water pump impeller.----Change the gear oil.

I called Evinrude ( 8 years ago) with the welsh plug numbers on two engines I have. They got back to me with accurate model numbers. Not sure if they still do that.

Just ordered a driveshaft for a 1966 model 100 HP Johnson / Evinrude.---Brand new one for a 15" / 16" short shaft transom model.----Picking it up later this week.----Parts end seems to be in business.

Looks very similar to my 2000 Johnson 50hp. Just a different color hood.

lindy----Compare the flywheel on your 2000 model with the flywheel in post #1-----And the red plug on wiring harness.------And this motor can be a mix & match model as powerheads fit many years too.
