Re: johnson td 20 leaking carb

Hi, Steven.

Welcome to iboats! :)

The TD-20 Johnson was made from 1946 to 1949. A 1941 5.0hp would be a TD-15.

I suggest that you overhaul the carb. You probably have shrunken and maybe cracked gaskets and seals. The float needle could also be stuck.

If you haven't done it yet, replace the water pump impeller as well.

You should be able to order parts through any JohnnyRude dealer or NAPA Auto Parts store.

Unless you are very experienced with the TD series, you need a Repair Manual.

You can get a Johnson Factory manual from www.kencook.com or a good aftermarket manual here: http://www.boatmotors.com/manuals.html

Good luck. :)
