hi guys, i am need advice on the installation of tilt box cables on my 70 hp johnson seahorse 1981 model.
in the manual the connection red and black leads are to be connected strait to battery.
if that s is the case i ll can' t isolated the battery from the mine switch board.
will be other option ? i m not sure how to deal with case ,and do a safe job
any advice will be grate

If you are isolating the battery completely from the engine, ignition switch, instruments, etc... I assume you are using a recommended Battery Switch, normally a Make Before Break type switch, and if so...........

Simply have the BLACK ground cable of the PTT unit connected to the negative terminal of the battery (or any ground point), and have the RED positive cable of the PTT unit connected to the battery switch terminal that leads to the engine... or to the starter solenoid terminal that the battery cable leads to.

This eliminates battery voltage from going anywhere unless the battery switch is turned to one of the ON positions.
