Does this motor have any value as an antique?<br /><br />The motor is in good condition and I have the owners manual and a poster that came with it.<br /><br />The manual says to use sae 40 automotive oil. Are the new outboard oils useable in it?

Use modern TCW-3 rated oil, 4MM. Use the ratio your manual recommends, which I suspect is 24:1.<br /><br />I doubt there is much collector value, but you can get better information from the Antique Outboard guys.<br /><br />Good luck.

I have an HD25 or 2.5, 1948 Johnson and I am told the mix on it is 16:1.
