johnson trolling motor help needed

I have a johnson foot controlled trolling motor that came with a boat i just picked up and the speed control seems to be striped or broken
the motor runs in high, the adjustment wheel turns but has no effect

how would i get this apart to repair or replace the part and where would i find parts for it
