I really like getting into these forums good common sense and a wealth of knowledge is so beneficial thanks to all who have helped me so far. Ended up getting a 13 7/8 x 15 stainless second hand.Hub is in exc cond cupping good, no nicks or damaged unused for 10 years the part number leads to a Viper prop. Not bad for 50.00 i thought.
Next question,
recieved my new reg/rectifier a CDI unit the part number 193-4204 it replaces the orignal unit on my motor which was 584204. The old unit has the 2 yellow wires one with a grey trace on it, the new unit has no trace on either wire. The only difference is a difference in length between the 2 yellow wires.
Any info on install of the new unit appreciated.
Again thanks to all, Dean

The new unit which has two plain yellow wires..... it makes no difference which of the yellow wire terminals either yellow wire connects to.

Repalced the reg / rect and the motor charges at 12.4 volts (across the battery terminals) at about 2k on the tach. 11.96 at idle. The charge rate rises only slightly as you can see. I'm sure it should be charging at about 13.5 to 14.2 when tested across terminlas when raised above idle. The battery was partially drained from the stereo running for 4-5 hrs. Should the charge rate be at 13.5 -14.2 regardless of charge in battery.
Charge rate was over 13 volts with old reg but tach was intermittent... what the &$^% is going on?. I will trickle charge the batteries to full charge and see what happens and swap to old reg as a quick test on charge rate.
Agian thanks to all for any input.
