hi, im new to this forum. I have a 25 hp johnson workhorse, or so it says on the decals. the model on the plate reads j25rss, but from my research i cannot figure out if it is an 83 model or a 2000 model. thanks in advance...

The 1983 motor was a commercial model; it will have few extras.

What is the serial number?

It's hard to tell, without a photo of it. As I can see, they built that model in 1983 and 2000

seria number is E5787047 the first letter could be an F... thanks for the replies

That would indicate that 1983 is correct. A BRP dealer can nail it down with the serial number.
