I am interested in making an offer on this classic outboard which is currently for sale on ebay United Kingdom(England). The vendor has a buy it now price of ?999.This seems a little rich as Hunns outboard book gives a much much lower valuation.I would like to make the vendor a fair offer so over to the experts.(its a non runner by the way and requiress restoration. Thanks

Over here, that's a $100-$200 motor, if it's in good shape. Even a cherry, perfectly restored one might have trouble reaching $500...

DSCF1672.jpgDSCF1675.jpgso the seller wants about $1600 canadian/u.s ???? wow! an offer of $160 seems more than fair to me, but do your homework before offering even that, it could get costly shipping parts from this side of the pond.

the 1928 in the pics, is a non runner, best for display, but maybe could run again, is worth ( to me) $75 canadian. its not pristine, but is all there, not siezed, has compression.

Two years ago I picked up one similar to the 1928 motor pictured above, a non runner at a garage sale for $17.00. Cooling tubes were cracked, gas tank dented and coil wires were missing. It hung in my pole barn for a year and then I sold it for $80.00.

I agree that seller is asking way too much.
