Re: jtexas(toads)

I have heard about ribbits, in fact I was looking for 'em at Academy last week but they didn't have any. Lots of hydrilla around, usually holds some bass. I'm a sucker for a splashy topwater strike.

I bought some homemade worms on ebay, copy of zoom trick worms, turned out real good. And the phantom ringworms, don't think they make that size anymore, I still have 2 or 3 packages.

Have you tried the Wave Worms tiki snake - I got a tip on 'em last week, bought some but haven't tried 'em yet...they say fish 'em on top like a frog or dead-stick. I like their tiki stick, it's a senko but tougher, lasts longer & not so pricey.

Yea J,i use the yiki here they last longer and are cheaper, ive been fishing them like a senko but i throw up on the srass and give them little jerks like a jerk bait, the fish just blow up on them, and then when i get a edge of grass i just letem flutter down.I tried the zoo horney toads, the yum toad non have the same action or sound as the ribbit.

Re: jtexas(toads)

how are you rigging the senkos, what size hooks? I like a 4/0 or 5/0 offset for weedless (like a t-rig) but they seem too big for a 5" or 6" stick worm, seems like it interferes with the action.

I just don't like having a big inventory of different hooks, takes up space & money, retie all the time, etc.

I use the offset hooks for wacky-rigging too but I'm thinking a live bait hook like a circle hook might be better. I've had pretty good luck with 'em in timber, but you have to drop it straight down beside the tree as possible - it'll catch on a snag if you cast it. Ever try to fish a wacky rig in grass?

I use a 3/0 oshausy or offset hook texas rigged without the weight at times ill use a 5/o widegap so if there not hitting the stick bait i can pull it off and throw a fluke.Never fished wackystyle i need to try it.
