Jump Starting a starter?

How do I jump start my starter using jumper cables. Can I do it off my car battery?

Yes, ground from car battery to good ground on outboard engine. Positive from car battery to starter terminal(Large)on outboard bypassing selonoid and it should turn over. It will throw sparks, so be prepared. If it still turns slow, you know the rest of the story!

Make sure you have a battery connected to the outboard's battery cables at all times when the engine is running, or you will ruin the rectifier and possibly the stator.
