Hey guys, any ideas on what would cause my tach to jump around like what you see in the attached video? It will start out fine at the start of the day then will jump around like you see in the video then fall completely to zero by the end of the day. Next day out with the boat the process will start all over again. As you hear in the background the motor runs fine. Not an issue with the engine just the tach itself. Might be a slight bit of moisture in there as my voltmeter and gas gauge were showing a little condensation earlier in the fall but I would think boat gauges can handle a little bit of moisture. Not droplets of moisture but just a little fogging. Boat is kept outside but under a canvas snap on cover. Mercury 50 ELPTO on a pontoon. Are there connections or grounds at the motor I need to check? Everything behind the gauge seems okay. Thanks in advance for your responses.

Bad connection either to/from the motor or inside the gauge. I would start at the gauge and check connections, then work your way back to the motor
