I'd just like to say THANKYOU to all the members here that have helped me out over the last month or so. As you know I have a 68 MERC 1000, that i must so just barely ran when i got it. It was really worse for wear. I have just finished my initial stages of rebuilding it. Compression was fine initially ( thank god ).<br /><br />Re wired 80% of motor, re-built 2 fuel pumps, re installed new fuel lines thought whole motor, new water pump housing and impeller, changed LU gear oil, new prop, new plugs, seafoamed the donk.<br /><br />Although it doesnt sound much, i didnt really know anything about outboards before. You guys have made this all possible for me. The little beauty is running soooooo......well at the moment and ive done it all myself. Your knowlage on the matters have been awesome and to those who contributed THANKYOU very much. I have so much confidence taking on my next steps because of this forum. The only thing left for my to do is re-build those 3 carbs and bobs ur uncle.<br /><br />Thanks again.<br /><br />Cheers
