I just baught this boat from my father and the deck was rotted, I removed all of the seats and console out, removed carpet, removed all decking. Now I am preparing to reinstall new treated decking. I need some ideas on how to build a center console and to build in the rear of the boat to cover the most of the motor and the battery, etc. I am wanting to also make that like a couch back there. My main concern is to rebuild the console. Pictures are a plus!
Thank you,
Billy Bray

I'd get an idea what I wanted for a console then rough frame my idea up with lumber. Stand back and see how I want to change it.:p

Welcome,
If your rebuilding try to keep the weight down. Now is the time to trim the fat.
Both for performance and capacity. Also try to get the ideal balance.
You might try rigging a console you can move around a little see how it affects the handling. A bench across the back will make it tail heavy when you load up people. On our Starcraft nova I cut the bench in half and put it behind the bucket seats. It really helped with a crowd. You might consider leaving the back deck open move the consiole back a little and put the bench ahead of the console.Depending on the size you might end up with a small deck at the front and rear for fishing.Just rig the controls and load some folks aboard
and see how you can balance the load possibly with a bench across against the front of the console.Bench back could open for easy egress front to back
etc.Just realized this needs to be in the boats not motors section.Moderators will probably move it for you.
