I just bought this 16ft Jupiter from a guy at work for $500. I haven't actually seen it in person only the pics. He said he had it out 2 years ago but hasn't used it since. For $500 I couldn't go wrong. Ill probably have to pull the carb and clean it and so on. He said the floor is soft but after reading this forum I see that I actually bought a pretty project boat.
Couple questions. It has been in freshwater probably its whole life but since I am 2 block from the bay I will be putting her in saltwater. Anything that I should do before her maiden voyage ? I want to use it over the summer and then in the future do a complete restoration. Can't wait to pick it up at the end of the month. I also have a good lead on a deep discount on a ETEC how fast would a 65 or 75Hp push her?

Re: Just Bought a Starcraft 69 16v Jupiter

Welcome to the Tin crowd, PtMoney. Nice project Jupiter. I don't know if the windshield is original but I like it. Floor and probably transom aren't too hard to do and plenty of advise when you get started. There are a few Jup restos here for ideas. I ran my SC as I worked on a plan, same as you.

What O/B is on her now? I'm guessing 65/75 hp will push her about 35-40.

Have fun and keep the pics coming.
