I just bought my 03 Chaparral yesterday now an equivalent year, engine and hours Maxum is for sale for 3k less. Not sure if I should have buyers remorse here or not since I never looked at a Maxum. How does the fit and finish compare to the Chaparral?

Was the Chaparral a good deal to you? If so, that's what matters.

Those kind of comparisons can drive you crazy. A used boat is a used boat. Judge each one on its own merits. If you are happy with the condition and equipment on the one that you got, don't look at any others. Seems like I got similar advice just before I got married!

That's why I stop looking at ads after I buy a car, truck or boat- stop torturing yourself and enjoy your Chappy!

I think you should have buyers remorse just for asking if you should . . . :p :p :D

Now that you're over that, let's see some pics of that Chap. Model? Motor and Drive?

+1!!! You're right on with this one...you can throw in motorcycles and high-end electronics too!

I'd take a Chappy over a Maxum anytime.

Enjoy your new toy!

Yes I need to stop looking. I shopped all last season and just now pulled the trigger so it is tough not to keep on. The Chaparral was on the high side of the boats I looked at for price but was on the high side of ammenities and overall fit and finish. That is not to say I didn's offer substantially less but the offer was rejected. I will just hope you get what you pay for. I see the Maxum is botton on the JD Power surveys. Maybe it is a good thing to avoid one though I doubt those surveys, as the law of large numbers does not apply since the number of surveys do not represent a credible number (at least in my business). As soon as I get the boat home, I will post some pics.

Maxums are Bayliners with a little more bling.

Everybody's right. Once you buy something, stop looking. There's always something out there cheaper than what you bought.

I recently laid 300 sq. ft. of laminate flooring that I paid $1.97/sq. ft. for. Two weeks later, I found the same flooring on sale somewhere else for $.99/sq. ft.

There it is. The floor looks nice. I was happy with it at the price I paid, and I'm still happy with it.

jkust, you made a huge mistake buying the Chap when a nice Maxum was soon to come along!!! I HOPE you paid a lot less for the chap than the Maxum costs.

Your only way out of this is to sell the Chap right away....for VERY cheap to make it a very fast deal......then buy the Maxum at list price. Otherwise, this screw up will haunt you every time you use you're crappy-deal Chap!

Please email me when you list the Chap for sale....I...uh...want to make sure you're doing the right thing this time.

If you like the boat you bought then you got a good deal.
