Just make sure you get the angles right.

The lights should not overlap forward, and they have to go a specific number of degrees astern of the beam. I don't remember if it is 135 degrees from the bow or 120. (I'd have to check.)

I don't know if those are adjustable.

The lights are made to shoot the right angle, all you have to do is make sure that the base is facing directly forward/aft. Look at thow the angle of the cavity that the light sits in to see how it forces the correct angle.

For mounting you hare gong to have to sink a hole for the actual light fixture to fit into. If you put it up on the pulpit that will in all likely hood have a wood or foam core, drill the hole a good bit deeper than the fixture needs. Then come up from under the pulpit and drill a quarter inch hole up into the larger hole. You will use this smaller hole under the pulpit to route you wires for the lights. Run them under the pulpit and into the hull and then seal all the holes and wires with 5200. From there its just a matter of mounting them level and parallel to the keel line.

I don't think you'll have any problem doing this. If you have the skills to make the pulpit in the first place this will just be an easy add-on.

Thom

Sorry to burst your bubble and I don't know if this is a factor of vessel size or not, but I'm pretty sure it's illegal to have sidelights that are below the gunwale on new setups. You see plenty of them on older boats, but I don't think you're allowed to install new.

But, at night, no one see that the lights are that low, and in the daytime, they can see your boat anyways. So it probably won't really make a difference, unless you get inspected or something.

Ah hell, it's your boat, do what you want!!!
