I just ordered a new set of risers. My question is on the bottom by where the exhaust hooks up there's a 3/4" plug. My oem ones had no plug there. We're theses put there for a reason.

Thanks

Ayuh,.... If ya don't need the port, leave the plug in it...

Risers tend to fit more than 1 application, so they need to be adaptable......

Might want to let us in on what Volvo you are putting risers on.

Post a picture of the riser and the plug. Were these OEM or aftermarket risers?

Re: Just got my risers

Ill post pics when I can. They are glm aftermarket risers. People had bad things to say about them but I'm going to have my engine builder mill them down and hope for the best. I know my boat never used those holes but curiosity has me wondering what they are for. So ill get some pics up shortly. Thanks for the replies

Bond-o's got it, these risers could be used for raw water or fresh water cooled engines - where you would only need the block off plate and put a barbed fitting in the port, rather than specific risers for each situation. Smaller ports could be for fuel pump coolers. I want to add a fresh water cooling system to mine where these "extra" ports would make it an easier conversion.... on the riser part of the job at least
