Not really Starcraft or boating related, but I've been remiss in my duties as a member of the Starmada, so...........


I guess some of you folks know that recently both my professional and personal life has gone in the dumper. My business pretty much took an unexpected nose dive, my wife moved out and filed for divorce, and I'm probably gonna lose my house & property and most of what I own. This was very sudden and unexpected (I guess I was just walking around in a fog and didn't see it coming) and most likely irreversable.

Now I'm no stranger to being a person of limited wealth, having grown up very poor. My step father walked out on my mom with five kids when I was eleven ( me being the oldest) leaving us to fend for ourselves. Still, I gotta say I've been feeling fairly miserable lately.

Then I get a call from my son telling me that he's buying me an early Christmas present. So we load up the trailer and off to Tennessee we go and come home with this!!!!!

Now things are still really bad, and I'm gonna have a rough year or so sorting everything out, but I FEEL A LITTLE BETTER NOW

God, I love my AWESOME kids!!

The best to you North Beach. Just had our 50 anaversary this year and as bad as things get some day I can't fathom me living alone. It would not be here if I did I would go where the weather is warm and inexpensive housing and a few lakes around. Hell I would even consider living in our motor home its a 35 ft Bounder that we never use and paid for. Nice BIke . You must have raised the children well. Keep in touch you got a bunch of friends here so don't forget it. Pugetsound

I lost my job as a CPA/Controller 2/10 and we are also struggling. Sold my 2000 SFM to pay bills, two in college, and the wolves are at my door.

With the bad economy, age against me, I kept a GRAND of my sales proceeds for a rehab to keep me somewhat sane for the time being.

If things don't change for the better soon, that will be sold also!

I feel bad that your spouse wants out, but I feel better that your son has the
love and wherewithall to honor you with a great gift.

His gesture was nothing short of putting you on the pedestal that he values. You both should be, and always remain proud of each other.

Riding can be great therapy - and much like boats can make for long winters up here. Your son obviously thinks highly of his dad which speaks well of you. GOod luck getting through the current mess but man, a gift like that hopefully helps keep your perspective. Very cool.

(the only thing better would have been a Moto Guzzi, lol)

NB sorry to hear the bad news. Your Youtube of the LL brought me to this site. Hate to loose a mentor.

Looks like your son gave you a different way to cruise. For me, cruising on the boat and cruising through the Allegheny national forest on the bike are are the best!

NB, I sincerely hope things turn around for you soon. Your son is a great person...the nut don't fall far from the tree...you obviously are a great father! And please...never liquidate the limo...you and she are family.

Guys let me be real clear here. I love this forum and all the friends I've found since I started hanging aroud here. I'm not going anywhere!

Secondly, the soon to be x and I are extremely friendly and plan to keep it that way. We're not fighting over anything and the LL will remain in the family until I leave this planet!!!!!!

The rest of that crap I've been collecting for the last 30 years can go for all I care. And sadly, I don't think the Center Console is going to happen at this point.

I will still continue collecting brochures and trying to help the new guys if I can.

And since my son came by and fixed the stupid malware problem I had, maybe I can post a little more. Some how, every time I clicked on a link, it sent me to some cheezy looking like yellow pages add, and crippled my ability to work any windows documents or pictures at all. I'm glad that's over!!!!

I rode for a couple of hours today! 37 degrees and spitting snow!

I feel for you NB. I'm glad to hear this won't be a bitter divorce, things are bad enough. Get a good friend or brother to lean on during this all.

I'll say a prayer for you buddy. Just know there are a whole lot of guys pulling for you here. If it wasn't for the excellence of the LL, our ranks would be a little thinner. I for one HAD to have a Starcraft aluminum once I saw the LL. I only looked at SC boats until I found one.

Good luck in life oh "Grand Poobah" of the tin Starcrafts. Check in often, keep us in line eh.
