Just curious if there is any need/market for an adapter that goes between the outboard flushing muffs and the garden hose to allow you to add what ever you wanted. thinking something to help counteract the salt from ocean boating. but could be used for anything like sealants/lubes/detergents....

Are you thinking something like one of those Miracle Gro canisters that you could add stuff to that would flow in with the water? Might be interesting.

ya kinda like that, I just don't live near the ocean so I don't worry about salt. I had a 68 merc 500 that was still untouched, engines last forever here :)

Salt Away and the West Marine version of the same both come with a device similar to what you are describing. Only drawback is that (at least with the West version, which is what I have) you have to stop the water flow to fill up the dosing bottle, then restart the water flow. I think there would be a market for one that would let you add the Salt Away or other stuff "on the fly" so to speak, so you wouldn't have to shut the engine down, turn off the water, add the stuff and then start the whole works up again.
