I would recommend the Chris Craft, with the Volvo Penta. I have driven a Volvo Penta now for a couple years and I love it. Larsons are a good boat, but Chris Craft is a manufacture that has been around for a long time and look at the quality of boat thay they produce. Another factor that you would want too look at is how easy is it going to be to get parts for either one of the manufactures, how close are they to where you live?

Belchy

I have both Merc and Volvo dealers that are near me. So, you are saying that even if the CC is 2 years older, go with it and that the Volvo is better than the Merc? Are Volvo's more expensive to repair?

I can't tell you which is better, cause haven't had any trouble with the volvo and never ran a merc before, cause i know where i live it is harder to get parts for the mercs than it is the volva's

Belchy

Both are decent boats; if the quoted price includes a trailer and any options at all, they are both priced right.

That said, the Larson is a bit underpowered IMO, while the Chris-Craft has a better match of power-to-weight.

I had that same 19' Chris-Craft. Though mine was a '96, not a 2000. Same design though. Mine had a 5L V8. Which was plenty. But the boat was heavy enough that it really needed the power. So I will disagree with the others and say that this 4.3L C-C is more underpowered than the 3L Larson. But the C-C certainly has higher quality seating. Try to get demo rides in both.

Kelly Cook

Agree with Kcook.

ALWAYS buy the most HP that you can afford. Stretch a little.

Just because it's there doesn't mean it gets used.

You'll thank yourself at resale. Trust me.
