Is there a type of strainer that coud be added "in-line" on the exit side of the impeller pump to gather pieces of the impeller (if it shreds) before it gets to oil cooler, T stat, etc. Mine went recently and the last few pieces were stuck in the Heat Exchanger.
Thanks....
Rick

Re: Just Wondering...... Bravo 3 impeller question

Hi Scott,
I replaced mine 6 months ago, My thought was not to use the strainer in place of recomended maintenance, but for the unexpected damage, (failure) that was caused when I picked up a plastic bag on the intercoastal.......

Thanks,
Rick

Sherwood #18029 strainer

BUT, if you add it IN FRONT of the sea water pump, it will catch most/all of the debris that causes the impeller blades to fracture and your impeller will look new even after 2 years of usage. Been there, done that.
