Hello I have a Yamaha 140 H/P v4 Year of make is 1995 I suppose I`m not sur about it.I bought it recently. It works good on idling , on giving the gear it works good on slow moving, but when increasing the speed, it slows and wont speed up. I inserted a new spark plugs. To say the truth I have the inlet of the fuel D/F filter. is broken, but I am not supposing that there`s a lack of petrol flow, I am supposing that there might be some dirt in the jet, but these were clean before.I even sprayed some calburator cleaner but it did not work out.

Spray carb cleaner will not work !! You will have to take the carbs apart for a proper cleaning. Be sure to take all jets out and clean all passages. Then set adjustments to factory specifications. You will probably need to buy a repair manual.

Re: kasi

Thanks that was a great idea I done as it was suggested and it runs good, but now I have another difficulty, I don`t have a manual book so I have to ask, to set the cal for economic consumption, am I suppose to open the adjusting screws two and a half turns, or I have to test it with some kind of equipment. In my opinion it seems to be running very rich in fuel cons.
