Keel repair 94 Aquatron 1800

I have some 2 part white marine epoxy as well as some gel coat repair. What would y'all more experienced people use to fix this? I don't want to put it in the water until I fix it so I know the fiberglass is about as dry as its gonna get. Will what I have work or is something else in order? Thanks in advance.

Oh and disregard the the plain ole 2x6, I've got to cover it when I get it off the trailer. It was that way when I bought it lol.

Hoped I'd get some opinions cause I'm wanting to do this tomorrow then get this thing in the water next week. I'm gonna epoxy the gouges almost completely yet leave a very small low spot so I can fill with gel coat repair once cured. I'll report back if it actually works.

Use the white epoxy only

FYI: gelcoat doesnt adhere well to epoxy so definitely dont epoxy 1st and cover w gelcoat.

Yes i had a worse one than that and epoxy worked great,you couldnt even tell later.I also used gloss white rustoleom or tremclad and looked as good as new.

Just regular Rustoleom rattle can paint? If so that would be great cause I've got a couple cans laying around from a set of trailer wheels I painted for my gpa.

Rattle can Rustoleum won't stand up very well in your requirement. I Think he's referring to using the Oil Based Paint with the added hardener. The third link in my signature below will give you info on how to use it.

Thank Woodonglass, I read through that on my lunch break earlier. I've been tossing around the idea of repainting the boat when it gets it's makeover this winter/next spring. An earlier post said that the gel coat wouldn't adhere well to the epoxy, I'm assuming that the epoxy is not an issue for the oil based paint?
