My keel is a little chipped up (from trailering, beaching, etc.).

What is the best way to fix this? I was thinking of just using fiberglass resin and hardner, and then brushing that over the exposed area.

I'm not looking for a professional looking job, just something effective.

Thanks!

Welcome - Lots of info here. As for the keel - Get some Marine Tex, mix it up (two part stuff in white or grey) and apply liberaly. Be careful as it dries as hard as steel. It takes about 24 hrs to cure completely. It will cure under water though I would not try and apply it under water.

I did the Marine tex to seal it up and harden the keel. I then installed a keelguard to make it look nice and to keep it from happening again..
