Anyone out there ever installed one of these?

What did you think of the installation?

How well does it work?

Any problems?
I installed one last year to cover up some Marinetexed beaching scars. It went on very easily. The only problem I had was the selant they supplied for the edges. It was a very warm day and the sealant was kind of runny. But it held fine and is still there.

Another thing you want to look at is where your keel roller is compared ot where this is supposed to be placed. The install instructions specify your keel roller should not be in contact with the KG when bearing the weight on the trailer.

I repositioned mine so that it deos bear full weight and shifts some to the bow stop.

The best price I found was sailnet.com, although you have to look under dinghy accessories..

I think it works very well and feel better when beaching it. I think it makes the boat look cleaner as well.
I installed one a few weeks ago, just before leaving for Canada vacation. I got a KeelArmor brand, same 3M adhesives, and similar installation process. I haven't had it very long but would do it again in a heartbeat. Especially after stranding the boat on top of a boulder while drifting last week-no marks scratches or damage.
Just an update and FYI from the VERY nice folks at KeelGuard.

I sent them an e mail late last night asking the question: will this work on an aluminum boat with a keel strip?

The called me bright and early this morning and informed me-no, it will not.

I was thoroughly impressed with their interest in my inquiry.

If their product is half as good as their customer service, I'd buy one and I will for my next boat.
