Keep VRO disabled?

I recently purchased an 18-foot Boston Whaler with a 120hp Evinrude on it. I have two questions I was hoping someone could help me out with.

1. Is a 120hp Evinrude enough motor for this size/weight boat? It's a 1987 Boston Whaler Outrage 18. Motor is an E120TXCUR.

2. The previous owner disabled the VRO oil pump by disconnecting the power to it and capping off the oil hose running to the pump. It's now premix. I've read both sides to keeping this disabled. Any suggestions on whether I should keep it premix or hook it back up would be great.

Thanks

The VRO is run by air pressure !!--------It is not an electric pump at all.------------Wires are for the alarm system.----------------My own preference is to run with 50:1 as nothing can fail / damage the motor !
