Keys for Evinrude

I bought an Evinrude motor which has been sitting for 3 years. The owner couldnt find the key for the remote. It is an OMC dark grey controller 1990 with throttle/gear warning buzzer etc. Ignition lock is plastic type.<br /><br />Are keys available or do i need new lock ?

Hi gdane<br />Yes keys are readly avaible at most Johnson evinrude dealers. If you are lucky you can make out the number of the key by looking at the end of where the key fits in it's suppposed to be embossed there. A magnifying glass could be a big help.<br />good luck
