To control my 5 HP kicker from the helm, I am considering installing either the EZ Steer steering system or the Goldeneye Steering System (marketed by Bass Pro Shops) on my boat. I have seen the EZ Steer system installed, but can't find out anything about the system made by Goldeneye Products. Has anyone used or seen this system and if so, do you have any comments or opinions on it before I make a decision. Thank You

Re: Kicker Steering Systems

I use it on a outboard and on a I/O, both work great, just connect bar when you need and use steering wheel to turn. My OB rig doesn't have a remote control for kicker, so I just set throttle on tiller. The I/O set up has control by helm, so I just drive around with no problem.

Very handy since I troll a lot with boat.

I have a EZ Steer and it works well if your boat does not have power steering. Had mine for over 10 years and have used alot in saltwater but still works fine with no rust at all.
If your main motor has power steering then I think without main motor running will find it hard to steer.
Do not know anything about bass pro model.
