I'm in the process of getting my 1961 FDL-15 running again after a 5 year hiatus.
I was getting ready to replace the water pump impeller when I discovered a small hole in the exhaust housing.
I'm fairly confident that it's a pellet hole from my ex-neighbors son's high powered pellet gun.
My first thought was to possibly drill and tap it and install a stainless screw, but due to how the damage was done the inside of the hole has a large crater about a 3/8 inch off to one side.
I feel the housing is to thin to thread for a bolt that large.
So my next thought is to seal it with JB Weld, sand it down and repaint it.
Do you think that would work?
Do you have any better idea's?
