Kill switch for 76 evinrude 35 hp

ok.. having to convert from remote electric to manual recoil because starter bracket got loose and blew out casting.

Also so I am setting up boat with stick steer. I need a kill switch install. My plans are to leave starter switch in, just turn key to on position, step to the back and pull.

My my biggest concern is getting chunked out of the boat. How do you wire a kill switch ? Do I wire the black with into one of the mag wires and the white to ground?

The two black wires from the magneto short together to kill the motor. You can get a universal lanyard kill switch for around $15. It will have four terminals, you would wire the two terminals that have continuity when closed to your two black magneto wires.

Use the two terminals which are open (that is have no continuity) when the lanyard is is fitted but are closed ( thats is have continuity) when the lanyard is pulled off.
