kill switch installation

I ordered a universal killwsitch online, when it arived i discovered it had no instructions.the markings on the switch have (M) and (C) two of each,if i <br />splice the switch in the magneto wire will it kill the engine or will it have to ground out the magneto to kill the engine? it is being installed on 1997 evinrude 150 (model E150ELEDB)

Basically you do not have a magneto ignition.If you wire it wrong,many ignition parts $$$ can be damaged.I suggest the Evinrude (direct) replacement part.<br /><br />DHP

Kill switch will connect between the two 'M' terminals on the key switch.

This worked perfect, in my case i used a piggyback terminal on both wires connected to the (M) terminals on my ignition switch.I used them to run the wires to my kill switch.The color of the wires i connected to on my ignition switch were black with white stripe and black with yellow stripe.These connected to the(C) <br />terminals on the kill switch opposite from each other.When you pull off the keeper and the circuit completes the engine dies.
