Original kill switch has black, and 2 black yellow, 89 Johnson GT 200. Question is, do I take blk/ylw from engine to kill switch, and then other blk/ylw from kill switch to key switch. Can’t get the answer anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated,
thanks, Allen

Bottom 2 are both blk/ylw

Kill switch applies a ground to kill motor
The Blk/Yel wires go to the magneto. Note in switch pics that the Off position connects Mag to ground, kill switch does same thing

I have that diagram, thanks. The issue I have is there are 2 blk/ylw wires on my kill switch itself. I am guessing 1 goes to the ignition switch that is separate at the dash, and the second goes to the motor. Or do I attach both at ignition?

Moved the thread to Johnson OB, hope others can chime in

I'm not seeing how your able to kill the motor with no connection to the Magneto contacts, unless your motor is not a 2 cycle

It took me a couple of minutes to get the Black / Yellow wires used up. In a way that works electrically. With both wires connected to 2 different places.
1 B / Y wire goes to the lower M switch terminal. ......The M screw terminal between the S and B terminals. Use either Black or Yellow wire there.
The other Switch B / Y is butt spliced to the B / Y wire coming out of the multi conductor cable.
As long as you connect the B / Y wire from the engine cable. To the M screw terminal between the S and B terminals of the switch. It will work with either B / Y. Just tape up the unused other B / Y .

I will take my spare used cable. Down to the boat tomorrow for a full test.

I will post back if it works or not. I am missing the plastic slider for the Kill Switch. I can use the plastic slider from my other control panel.

Connect one of the Y/B to the Y/B in the harness going to the motor. The other Y/B goes to the switch. Black to ground.

Both of my connector cable assemblies work fine.
You MUST have that special black molded part that slides onto the kill switch. And it must push the switch button down.
You can test the kill switch By PAINFULLY pushing in and HOLDING IN. The Kill Switch button. ALL of the ignition key switch positions will then work correctly. Test the switches with the boat in the water . DO NOT test run the motor dry !! Best way to instantly wear out water pumps.

I would trailer to a launch and carry the dock ropes to a dock next to the ramp. No ramp ? Back the boat on the trailer into the water on the RAMP !!! Make sure there is plenty of water way above the pump inlet holes.
Then you can do all the testing needed without any danger to burning out the water pump. (y)
