I am looking at a boat that has a KingCobra O/D driven by a BBC.
If I was to buy the boat I would probably be looking to replace the OMC w/ a Mercruiser.

Is a Bravo 1 a direct fit w/ minor changes to the transom?

I understand I will need to replace everything......just don't want to fool with the transom.

The Bravo I cutout is the same as a Bravo 2 and 3, and an Alpha I, a MC1 drive, and the Alpha I Gen II. Which is also the same as the OMC Cobra and King Cobra and the Volvo SX drives...........

The most you would have to change is to drill 2 extra holes at the top, but I think the Kings had those holes also.

I am assuming the Bravo 1 would be the "cheapest" option?

Everything ive read says that the King Cobra cutout is bigger than the alpha 1 cutout. I was thinking I could use this to fill the large KC hole?

Welcome to iboats sausrigging, please don't reply to old threads unless you are the original poster, as explained in our forum rules. The red bar should have made you aware of the age. That and we know Tony has a Mercruiser now.
