Kohler 5ECD - Generator Cooling Question

This is my first boat that I have owned which has a generator; recently replaced the impeller (which was badly needed). I ran it for a few hours without issues however I never really had that warm/fuzzy feeling because there was never a solid stream of water coming out of the starboard side.

I was hoping someone with a bit more boating experience could tell me if this type of water stream is to be expected with my generator? Does the exhaust also come out this starboard side outlet as well?

That's exactly what mine does and yes, exhaust and water come out the same hole.

Yup looks good. They have a water lift muffler, So it has to build exhaust pressure to lift the water and push it up and out.
