I have a Kohler 7.3e genset on my 2006 Rinker 390 that stalled when docking 3 weeks ago. Since then I have not been able to get it to start. I have replaced: spark plugs, fuel pump, fuel filter, water separator, control board, engine wire harness.
I believe the problem occurred because a hole in platform washdown box caused water to drip onto the wire harness/control box.
The genset will crank but not turn over. I can sometimes get it to turn over if I cover the carb intake with my hand and it will run for 15sec to 2 min but then shut off. It is producing the correct voltage when it runs and it will run without holding start button but it soon shutoffs. It almost feels like it is getting no gas. Carb looks clean but I just got rebuild kit so that is next.
Anyone have any other ideas of what could be the problem.
Trying to get it working so I can fully enjoy last few weeks of season on Cape Cod. Thanks
