L-Drive Drive Shaft Turning w/ Steering !Help!

90h.p. 1990 Force L-Drive

I took my engine out to change some piston rings. After i put the engine back in, I noticed when i turned my steering wheel, my flywheel also turned a little bit. Engine struggled to turn over when i turned the key. So i ripped the engine out again today.

i also had the gearcase off to repair the skeg at the same time i had the engine out. Maybe threw the driveshaft off when reinstalling?

any ideas? did i damage something when lowering my engine on the driveshaft when i put the engine back in?

i think i messed up a bit when reassembling the shift linkage on the gearcase. i think i was trying to turn the engine over with it actually in gear (although it was in nutural up front)

i took the gearcase off again and not i can freely turn the driveshaft seperately from the steering, although when i turn the steering wheel the driveshaft still turns a bit but i guess that is just some friction.
