Lakeland 1578 Tiller

Hello, I used you guy's several years ago and hope to again! I am in need of replacing the carpet in my Lakeland 1578, I know pictures are important and will get some next week when I get it out of storage. My first question is will I need to take the (CAP, Siding?) where the carpet end goes all around the boat, off and replace or not? Where would be a starting place for this material if I need it and what should it be called? Thank you all in advance! BobH.

I need to apologize, we have had 25 - 40 mph winds and I chose to leave the boat in storage another week. Bringing home Friday... and will post pictures!
