Larson bimini installation

I have a 2000 206 Larson LXI w/a standard windshield high bimini. It is mounted to the side glass frame on the top metal frame. I want to instal a new 8 foot bimini and need to know if the aluminum frame will support the higher profile bimini or should I mount it to the hull?

I have a 2006 208 LXI with a 6 foot top mounted to my windshield frame. In my opinion, I would not install on the frames. I would mount it to the boat. Even with the rear support poles, I believe the side windshield frames are too weak.
