Hello:
I am in the process of restoring a 1969 Larson V174 Crestflite. I have most work completed and actually got it in the water last summer. Unfortunately, the middle of the lake is where I discovered a problem.
Sometime before I purchased the boat at auction, someone (probably kids) put a large quantity of dirt in the fuel tank which I have been unable to get out of the tank without removing it from the boat.
My question to any older Larson owner is:
Did Larson leave adequate clearance to remove the tank without cutting/lifting the top of the boat???
The tank measure 10" H x 16" D x 30" L. It appears that if I remove the plywood kickboard under the dash and trim a small amount of the plywood bracing that there will clearance to pull the tank out from under the bow.
If anyone has done this before and has a few tips or tricks, I would be grateful
Thanks much
