I got this 20' Renken boat cheap, I got it mostly for the aluminum trailer for a 20' Wellcraft I got. Anyway It has the engine listed above, I was going to try to see if I could get it running and test it out and then sell Motor and outdrive. I have very little I/O experience and was wondering if this motor would be worth my time and trouble to get running. It has been sitting up for a while. the tilt and trim seems to work and the engine looks to be in decent condition. What would be a fair asking price for the whole shooting match including controls and steering and wiring harness with the engine running VS not running? Are there any parts that are in high demand??
Just trying to see if its worth a couple of days work to see if it will run..the starter is locked up, I got it off, I could probably borrow one from a friend if needed. Thanks for any guidance and any suggestions for cranking a motor that has been sitting up for a while.:D

I dont have a whole lot of experience, but I have the same motor and probably the same outdrive. If it is in decent shape it is probably worth a good chunck of change. If you look on ebay and craigslist 4.3 engines and cobra out drives sell for $1000+ Here in southern california it would probably sell overnight for a good price.

well my question is what is it worth like it sits..untested..I kinda think it should be worth around $500 for everything..If I am only going to get 1K with it in good running condition then maybe its not worth my time to fix..I mean $500 for a couple of days labor and probably $100 or so in misc parts..not worth it to me..but if it would sell for $2k that may be worth it.
