Can anyone tell me the difference between these two hulls. I am starting a new project and had planned on the islander for the deep aluminum hull and the ease of opening up the bow area. Id be interested to know which boat is deeper on the sides and bow and any other information on pros and cons. Thank you to anyone who can provide some information.

From my exposure to the Mirrocraft, ( limited ), The Starcraft is going to be bigger in all dimensions.
It is also available in several lengths.

But if you want an open bow, why not look for a Starcraft 22 SS ?

Does the super sport the same hull as the islander? I want large bow and high sides.

You want to take a cabin boat and hack it into a run of the mill open tub? This style of boat gets it strength from the bow deck and cabin that ties the boat together, to just remove it all would make a floppy disaster waiting to happen.

The biggest SS is a 22'r but you can find out some of the specs here http://boatspecs.iboats.com/

I know several people who have removed the top of a 22 islander. I do need the open bow. Can anyone else give opinion on this job? The hull integrity will be comprised if I remove the top of an islander? I’m looking for a ss but they seem hard to come by.
