Latest on the French riots

From an AP article in this morning's paper (I'm paraphrasing):<br /><br />Many of the immigrant's whose children are rioting haven't learned French while their children didn't learn their native language. One woman was quoted as saying she & her husband lived there 25 years & still don't speak a word of French.<br /><br />Parents are blaming a French law that prohibits them from striking their children, saying they have no way to discipline them. France has a toll-free number for children to call & rat out their parents.

Thats so like the situation we have here in So Calif with the illegals from mexico. But still I have a hard time dredging up any sympathy for the french.
