replace the drive
all depends on how hard of a hit the prop took. most of the time shock danage is transmitted to the upper and it breaks on its own about a year later.
that is why i will not throw my boat in at laughlin! I always make the drive down to Needles and launch there. I would rather be safe than sorry! With that said i went to Blythe for the 4th and of course it cant be a "river trip" without something going wrong. My driveshaft bellows decided to grow a big hole and just about flood the boat by the time i caught it. I will be purchasing an automatic bilge now
Yeah, thats how a lot of "the river" is. I spent the weekend in Blythe and you literally have to snake around the river to miss the sand and rock bars. Literally one side to the other. Ill be honest Polarized sunglasses help out tremendously. i have a 21' bahner but it has a very low freeboard and low draft so when im on plane i can make it through some pretty darn shallow water.Yeah I hear you, it was my first Laughlin trip...cruising in the middle of the river, just finished up for the day heading back to the ramp. Hit a rock right next to the state patrol, they didnt even try to help just looked at us and rolled out....damn cops are more worried about arresting drunk boaters then helping people. I wouldnt be surprised if someone didnt sink a bigger vessel out there and kill someone. Im in a little Bayliner Capri 18', no bouys or anything
